Honoring Children’s Voices: Where Quality Begins
Because quality emerges when children are heard
Quality in early learning is often described through standards, environments, and educator practice – but at its heart, quality begins with children’s voices. When we listen deeply, respond thoughtfully, and honour children’s rights and ideas, we create programs that are not only developmentally rich, but profoundly respectful and relational.
Honoring Children’s Voices brings together early years professionals for a day of reflection, learning, and connection. Through keynote presentations, shared dialogue, and practical exploration, we will consider how children’s perspectives can shape our planning, our environments, and our leadership decisions.
Grounded in the belief that nothing about children should be decided without children (Marc Battle), this conference invites us to re-examine quality through a rights-respectful lens – one where children are partners in their learning and contributors to the life of our programs. Join us as we reconnect with the heart of our work: listening to children, learning from them, and leading with their voices at the centre.
We look forward to hosting Marc Battle as a keynote speaker in addition to an afternoon of breakout sessions to meet the diverse interests of our early learning participants.
